Rejected by merchants in Affiliate Window (AWIN)
Ok I’ve applied for a programme, the merchant or their agency who deal with Aff marketing for them as had a look at my profile in AWIN and rejected me. No complaints as the primary site url listed in ‘Account details’ in the Awin interface has nothing to do with the programme I was applying for. But why do Awin just allow you to enter 1 url, obviously they know many affiliates have various sites in different niches therefore you should be able to enter as many urls as possible.
So first suggestion is that Awin changes the ‘promotional tab’ in ‘Account Detail’ to allow affiliates to enter more than 1 site.

Secondly when you have been rejected by a merchant why isn’t there a way to ‘appeal’ in the interface, could send the merchant a simple explanation of why I am applying for their programme and also the url I am using to promote the site. These changes are quite simple and would benefit the affiliate, the merchant and also the network.

Hi Darrell,
Apologies you’ve been rejected from a number of programmes.
We appreciate there are some areas lacking in the interface and upgrades to this are a priority for us here at Awin Towers. Expect to see a significant upgrade to the system, allowing affiliates to much better profile themselves to our merchants in the near future.
In the interim if you’d like to send me over the list of merchants you’ve been rejected by together with your affiliate ID I can speak to the relevant account managers to see if we can get you approved.
Thanks,
Kevin

I’ve added a list of my URLs to the description box along with a couple of words on what each specialises in. Seems to have satisfied the vast majority of merchants.
I do believe Awin are looking to let you add more sites as per other networks in the near future.
On the topic of Appeals, does any other network offer this? Also, ‘Contact Merchant’ is quite a useful way to get in touch with the merchant concerned to put your appeal forward.
Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Hi Dave, ok cool I’ll add more sites to the description box.
On the appeals part I’ve rang up spoke to account managers at Awin who say they will sort it for me, used the contact option and still get no feedback or approval. No probs if the merchant really doesn’t want to approve me but some feedback would be good.

“Leave” all those merchants who have rejected you.
You can now re-apply, as if by magic.
I also have a message in my description saying: “It is possible that we do not intend to promote your program on any of these listed urls. If none of those listed suit your program needs, please contact xxx@xxx.com and we will detail our intentions”
works a treat.
